Postdoctoral position in Photosynthetic Metabolism
This post offers an exciting and exceptional opportunity for a highly
motivated postdoctoral researcher to work as part of a team in the
multidisciplinary Plant Productivity group at Essex.
Within this group there are 3 post doctoral researchers, two research
technicians focused on the improvement of photosynthesis funded through
the Realising Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE) project. We are
looking for a candidate with an interest in photosynthesis and who has
experience in plant biochemistry and
metabolism.
This project will focus on the analysis of transgenic plants with
improved
photosynthesis to identify potential novel targets for manipulation.
Candidates should have good communication skills, the ability to work
independently as
well as with other members of our research group. This project forms one
of the pipelines in the RIPE project for the improvement of
photosynthesis and is part of an extensive and exciting international
consortium headed up by Professor S Long, Illinois.
This post is available immediately position and is funded for an initial
period of 24 months
