The Department for Biostatistics and Health Informatics at King's College London is offering fully funded 3-year PhD studentship(s) to start in February 2020
We are seeking outstanding applicants from a wide range of backgrounds including: computer science; data science; mathematics; statistics; health informatics; applied and health statistics; machine and deep learning; natural language processing; text analytics; neuroscience; biological science; physical science; epidemiology, econometricians to work at the cutting edge of mental health research.
The following titles are available to choose from:
1. Modern Knowledge Representation and Inference Applied to Electronic Health Records to aid Personalised Causal Knowledge Discovery to aid clinical decision making in Psychiatry.
2. Multimorbidity patterns in Severe Mental Illness: the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Biomedical Research Centre (SLAM BRC) Case Register
3. A unified approach for the statistical analysis of post-randomisation variables in clinical trials
4. Precision medicine and mechanism: How and for whom do psychological treatments work?
5. Transdiagnostic mechanisms in cognitive behavioural interventions for patients with Persistent Physical Symptoms: How do transdiagnostic psychological therapies work?
6. Modelling Development and the Evolution of Morbidity
7. Predicting diabetes in people with psychoses
Standard PhD entry requirements: Applicants should have a Bachelors degree with 2:1 honours (or Overseas equivalent). A 2:2 degree may be considered only where applicants also offer a Masters with Merit.
Award types and eligibility: Funding is available for 3-year studentships. The award covers academic fees (Home/EU); a stipend and contribution towards training, conference attendance and research costs. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from non-EU / international candidates.
