Statistician, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Birmingham & Cardiff, UK
Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Ltd is an independent consultancy specialising in the application of health economic techniques to support pharmaceutical pricing, reimbursement and market access activities. We currently have a team of 60 researchers based in the UK and Germany who specialise in the development of mathematical disease models, the statistical analysis of clinical trial and real-world databases and who perform systematic literature reviews and meta-analysis.
Our clients are global pharmaceutical companies and our projects encompass a broad range of applications across all disease areas. Our work typically requires novel analytical approaches resulting in opportunities to publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
Statistician
Within our growing team we are seeking to recruit a statistician/analyst. The successful candidate will have, as a minimum, a BSc or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics or applied mathematics; ideally with a postgraduate qualification in an applied quantitative discipline such as statistics, econometrics or epidemiology combined with previous experience within academia or industry.
The successful candidate must be familiar with the development, testing, validation and reporting of a wide variety of statistical approaches to modelling healthcare data (both real-world and clinical trials). For example, parametric and non-parametric multivariate survival analysis, multilevel regression modelling, generalised linear models and multiple imputation. Analysis from both frequentist and Bayesian perspectives is also a pre-requisite. Experience with statistical data modelling in R and Winbugs would be a distinct advantage as would experience in techniques for evidence synthesis.
