We are looking for an excellent, enthusiastic and quantitatively strong
candidate, with a PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Computational Science,
Demography or a closely related quantitative discipline, to contribute to
developing and applying statistical methodology for the study of spatial
uncertainty in small area analysis from survey and administrative data. The
post is available for 36 months as part of a collaborative project with
Emory University (US) and Harvard University (US), funded by the US
National Institutes of Health. The post holder will work on model
formulation and statistical programming, as well as on novel visualisation
techniques to communicate uncertainty in small area studies on a wide
audience.

The post holder will be based in the School of Public Health at Imperial
College London, within the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics
which covers a number of themes including environmental epidemiology,
biostatistics and population collections. The UK Small Area Health
Statistics Unit (SAHSU) sits within the Department of Epidemiology and
Biostatistics. SAHSU’s work includes substantive epidemiological enquiries
of environmental health problems and methodological research around data
quality and space-time statistical analysis of non-communicable disease.
