Hi all,
The next event of the Glasgow local group of the Royal Statistical Society will be on Thursday 26th of September at 17:00. Hopefully, you will be able to join us at the University of Strathclyde at Room LT908 in the Livingstone Tower.
See details below for the event.
Transforming Health and Social Care Publications in Scotland
Speakers: David Caldwell and Jack Hannah
Time: 17:00-19:00.
Place: LT908, Livingstone Tower, University of Strathclyde, G1 1XH
Meeting Point: University of Strathclyde
Summary: The Information Services Division (ISD) of NHS Scotland produces around 200 statistics publications per year. Traditionally they are presented as static pdf documents with accompanying Excel tables, and their production requires extensive manual formatting using a combination of proprietary software tools. In this talk, two members of the Transforming Publishing Programme (TPP), David Caldwell and Jack Hannah will show how their team is modernising the way in which these statistics are produced (using R and git to create Reproducible Analytical Pipelines (RAP)) and presented (using R Shiny).
