Hi all
Does anyone use Nova meters for glucose/ketone testing and also use Cerner as their electronic patient record system?
I am enquiring as to how the results are fed into Cerner and the patients blood test record and how this is achieved?
My EPR team here are saying that we must use the encounter or visit number for the results to be posted in the correct episode for the patient. It is easy for in patients as they have wrist bands but more difficult for outpatients as this encounter number is not easily found.
The encounter number, while unique, is a changeable number, ie you will get a different one for every outpatient or in patient admission meaning I cannot track results across multiple encounters in Bioconnect very easily.
Has anyone achieved this? or does anyone have an alternative suggestion on how results feed into the Cerner EPR?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Dave
