Open City Documentary Festival, UCL Anthropology's non-fiction, anthropological and ethnographic film festival takes place from 4-10th September<x-apple-data-detectors://1> in London.
I wanted to flag three screenings in particular that may be of particular interest to fellow members of the anthropology community. Please share with anyone you think may be interested.
TASTE OF HOPE, Laura Coppens - 5th Sept<x-apple-data-detectors://2>, Bertha DocHouse
An elegantly crafted observational film, Laura Coppens’ attentive anthropological feature looks at the utopian efforts of a tea factory in France owned by a workers’ collective.

MOVEMENTS OF A NEARBY MOUNTAIN, Sebastian Brameshuber - 7th Sept<x-apple-data-detectors://4>, ICA
Sebastian Brameshuber’s third feature is an elegantly composed, multi-layered portrait of a self-taught Nigerian mechanic working in a remote industrial site at the foot of the Austrian Alps.

Filmed over the course of a year in Ambedkar Nagar, a dense, largely working class area in South Delhi, Yeh Freedom Life moves between the two very different worlds of its protagonists, Sachi and Parveen, feverishly trying to keep up with the currents of their respective loves.
