Subject: INTAV Tephra Meeting and Dinner, INQUA Dublin, Mon 29th July
Hi all,
The INQUA Congress in Dublin is fast approaching. INTAV members are convening two full sessions during the congress with around 60 papers in total, both oral and poster. One session is on Friday 26th July, “Multidisciplinary applications in tephrochronology ‒ from archaeology to volcanology”, and the second on Monday 29th July, “Tephras on the edge: Advances in distal tephrochronology ‒ methodologies, frameworks and databases”. The programme lists numerous other tephra-related papers so there is something for everyone.
On Monday 29th July a short business meeting of INTAV will be held from 6.30-7.00 pm in Wicklow Meeting Room 1 (level 2) to update current activities (including progress on the JQS special issue on tephrochronology in preparation) and future events. Please feel welcome to come along.
The meeting will be followed by an INTAV tephra dinner at The Harbourmaster (https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fharbourmaster.ie%2F&data=01%7C01%7Cabbottp%40CARDIFF.AC.UK%7C467ae37cfdfe46b5d03c08d704bfe3ac%7Cbdb74b3095684856bdbf06759778fcbc%7C1&sdata=7o97%2BUC5AaktFy61d%2BCoVSp42jb9eOlO8jwXlrjD4ks%3D&reserved=0) at 7.30 pm and we invite you to join us. The restaurant is about ten minutes' walk from the conference centre. The restaurant offers a set menu for €26 (menu option details below). A vegan option will be available on the night and please let us know when you sign up if you require that. Any drinks are extra. Food and drinks to be paid separately by individuals on the night. If you would like to join us, please email Peter Abbott ([log in to unmask]) before the 19th of July to book your seat (ideally sooner as we do have limited seating); if appropriate, please indicate if you would like a vegan meal.
