The University of Plymouth International College (an Associate College of the University of Plymouth) are looking for an External Examiner to provide oversight of their FHEQ Level 4 Business courses. These courses are taught over two semesters and are undertaken by International and EU Students. Students who progress from the College are given automatic entry into the Level 5 (second year) provision of their chosen University of Plymouth Degree Pathway. The course is already given preliminary oversight by staff in the University of Plymouth Business School and we will need an External Examiner to give an independent view on the learning and teaching, module assessment and overall quality of the provision.
Ideally we are looking for a candidate with a wide range of expertise as our Level 4 Teaching and Learning covers Accountancy and Finance, Business, Economics, Maritime Business, Marketing and Tourism and Hospitality.
UPIC run three semester intakes a year and run module and programme boards in September, January and May for these intakes. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to help review the modules on three separate occasions in one year. Currently the External is required to be present for at least one of these per year and available via Skype for the remaining two. The contract for this position will be for a maximum of three years and we will be looking to start the new candidate for the award boards in January 2020. Candidates will be approved by the Quality office at the University of Plymouth and the Navitas Academic Registry.
