Research Fellow in Statistics / Data Science at UCL
UCL Institute of Child Health / Institute of Health Informatics
Grade 6B or 7 depending on experience
Salary (inclusive of London allowance): £35,328 - £39,353 per annum
Closing date: 31st July
We seek an ambitious researcher with statistical and quantitative skills and knowledge of using linked administrative or cohort datasets for research. The successful applicant will take the lead on a Wellcome Trust funded study to develop methods for generating synthetic data and for linking and analysing longitudinal population studies and administrative data. This post will work with researchers across HDRUK to conduct an exciting programme of research at the forefront of data science to help maximise the joint potential of existing longitudinal population studies and multiple administrative datasets.
The Research Fellow will have excellent statistical and computing skills in handling large, longitudinal administrative data. Knowledge of linkage methods, methods for handling missing data, and administrative data from at least one service sector (e.g. health, finance, education) is highly desirable. The post would be suitable for a highly skilled MSc-level or postdoc quantitative researcher (we will also consider other experience in place of a PhD) who wants to address the challenges of using linkage of large administrative datasets to inform policy, service development, and/or methodological advances.
This post is funded for three years in the first instance, but we will consider applicants wishing to undertake a specific work package (e.g. 12-18 months). We will also consider secondments and/or part time working.
