Call for Workshop Papers: Applications of Big Data in the Transport Industry (part of IEEE BigData 2019)
Main Conference Dates and Location: 9th - 12th December 2019, Los Angeles, CA, USA
The global transport industry is increasingly data operational and business objectives. Now in its third year, the workshop will bring together researchers and industry practitioners from the USA, Europe, and worldwide to discuss the current state-of-the-art in the field, to identify best practice that can be shared across transport modes, and to prioritise topics for future R&D.
Call for Workshop Papers
The organizing committee would like to take this opportunity to invite the submission of full papers for presentation at the workshop. Papers should be of up to 10 pages / 8,000 words in length and may focus on any topic related to the theme of “The Application of Big Data Technologies in the Transport Industry”. On acceptance, the authors of high-quality submissions selected by the Programme Committee have the opportunity to extend their papers for inclusion in a new book, “Implications of Digital Systems on Mobility as a Service”, to be published by IGI in 2020.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
* Big data for transport simulation and passenger choice modelling (e.g. modelling passenger flows in metro systems);
* Data driven Digital Twins of transport system assets (e.g. dynamic modelling of transport interchanges);
* Big data technology and transportation safety (e.g. analysis of driver data for identification of dangerous intersections);
* Business analytics of transport data (e.g. planning of service provision);
* The Internet of Transport Things (e.g. monitoring of freight in transit);
* Big Data in support of asset management (e.g. Condition Monitoring of vehicles and infrastructure);
* Improved services for customers (e.g. dynamic journey planning during disruptions, delivering the end-to-end journey across transport modes);
* Traffic management and real-time transport operations (e.g. real-time management of traffic congestion).
Important Dates
Submission due 1st October 2019
Notification of acceptance by 1st November 2019
Camera-ready papers due 15th November 2019
