This is a call out for anyone interested and wishing to participate in a workshop to be held at the Alan Turing Institute (London) Wed 26th June 2019, 13:00 - 17:00 on New Forms of Data for Mobility.
The afternoon will be orientated towards academics/researchers who are working with a variety of new forms of data (location, image, social media, transactions etc) in a transport/mobility context. The workshop will be stocktaking on recent research, identifying research needs and also looking at new approaches to modelling/analysis that arise from new data forms.
The goal is to produce a position paper, co-authored by active contributors and this will also be an opportunity to explore partnering for a possible future funding bid. Bruce Jackson (Data & Infrastructure Senior Policy Manager ESRC) will attend, giving an overview of the landscape from the ESRC perspective by way of introduction.
There is some limited funding to help with travel and overnight accommodation if needed. Funds will be prioritised according to the type of data colleagues are working with and so that a variety of new data can be discussed in the meeting.
If interested, please respond to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by 7TH June with the following information:
* A short summary of the new form(s) of data you are working with (and potentially new analysis methods) (100 words max)
* Whether you would like to be considered for a standard presentation slot (20 mins)
* Whether you would like to be considered for a short presentation slot (lightening talk, 5 mins)
* If you would like to attend and join discussions, but not to present
* If you may need funding support to participate
Unfortunately it may not be possible to give a slot to everyone who wishes to present, but this will be confirmed by the 11th June.
