Hi all,
A few days ago I carried out some segmentations with the latest version of CAT12 (r1450), and everything appeared to be fine. Yesterday I repeated one of the segmentations and noticed that, while the estimations for GM, WM, and CSF tissues were exactly the same, the estimation for cortical thickness was significantly increased. I tried to resegment the same subject again and a few others, and I consistently got increased cortical thickness estimations for all of them, while the rest of the estimations remained the same.
Looking at the bottom of the PDF report, I found out that the tissue identification remains practically unchanged in the left hemisphere, but it changes dramatically in the right hemisphere, which I guess affects the cortical surface reconstruction. This is the case for all the subjects that I have resegmented. As you will see in the images linked below, it is quite clear that the "new" segmentations are wrong.
- This is part of the PDF report for the "original" segmentation that I made a few days ago (7th June): https://ibb.co/SKV1qbK
- This is part of the PDF report for the "new" segmentation that I made today (13th June): https://ibb.co/XLxNMFj
It is important to note that:
- These subjects are segmented with the same version of CAT12 (r1450) and employing the exact same protocol.
- The logs of the segmentation procedures look identical.
- I have not updated SPM, MATLAB or even Windows in these last days.
- I already tried to reboot the computer.
Do you have any hint on what could be going on here?
Thank you.
