Dear list members,
In recent months there have been initial discussions amongst the Collection Management community about models for incorporating retention information in bibliographic metadata.
The Jisc Collection Management Community Advisory Board (CMCAB) is interested in exploring this further and is eager to gather the views of the community.
A draft working paper was produced by the University of York. Written initially for internal use, we felt it was useful to share more widely to inform discussions. While the paper does not reflect concrete decisions, it raises issues and ideas which are useful to consider in relation to the subject: available https://blog.ccm.copac.jisc.ac.uk/2019/06/05/retention-information-bibliographic-metadata-cmcab-consultation/
To share your views please complete the short survey produced by CMCAB and available here.
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf9s-OHuXOrm-z3hIN2TpFmth7ltu6NtO-ljrMYsVjU6MuqRw/viewform
This will remain open until end of business on Friday 28th June, and will help inform and shape future actions.
Following this survey, the CMCAB will produce recommendations and seek to encourage the community to work towards the adoption of common principles and goals in this area.
With thanks for your contribution to the discussion,
Ruth Elder

(Hopefully you can access the York paper successfully : available through blog link, Google Doc link and/or attachment!)
