Good day Paul or other FSLeyes-savvy peeps:
not a sys admin person here, hence fairly basic questions.
we recently updated from Ubuntu 14 to 16 and it caused some issues.
we're running it on an ubuntu server but getting there through VNC Viewer on our macs.
when we open FSLeyes *via command line through in VNC Viewer (version 6.19.107)* the FSLeyes splash screen freezes and we get an error that "OpenGL 1.4 or newer is required (detected version: 1.3)"
I've tried many ways to install a newer version of OpenGL but no luck.
Here's the situation we're working with and the commands that got me the info:
Graphics card:
lspci | grep VGA
VGA compatible controller: ASPEED Technology, Inc. ASPEED Graphics Family (rev 30)
X11:
xdpyinfo |grep version
version number: 11.0
XFree86 version: 4.3.0
Ubuntu version:
lsb_release -a
Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS
FSL version:
flirt -version
FLIRT version 6.0
FSLeyes version:
fsleyes --version
fsleyes/FSLeyes version 0.29.0+build0
SO, FOR UPDATING OPENGL:
i've tried all kinds of apt-gets for updating opengl and/or mesa, which i believe OpenGL is under / related to?
but maybe i tried the wrong stackoverflow answers. ya never know what you're gonna get there.
also i followed some of your
https://users.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/~paulmc/fsleyes/userdoc/latest/troubleshooting.html
but this one isn't needed:
apt-get install freeglut3
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
and
unset LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT
doesn't work either, but i think that's a separate, non-VNC issue anyway.
Finally, I read a few older threads on the FSL list related to this but they either didn't work or sent us down new rabbit holes.
SOOOOO, hopefully that's not too much info for you to help. What do we need to do or upgrade to get fsleyes to work again for us?
Obviously let me know if you have more clarification questions and THANK YOU SO MUCH, we really appreciate it.
