PART A of the report reviews progress and challenges related to durable solutions planning and programming. Discussion is structured around four key durable solutions programming principles: 1) area-based planning; 2) sustainable (re)integration; 3) collective outcomes and coordination; and 4) government engagement. It also includes eight case studies that reflect key lessons learnt from practice.
PART B offers an updated criteria rating for each of the locations based on the ReDSS Solutions Framework
A workshop on April 30th was organized in Mogadishu to discuss key findings and recommendations and reflect on how to inform and adapt durable solutions programming. Common Social Accountability Platform (CSAP) - Results and findings from citizen led discussions on displacement in Mogadishu - January 2019: full report and summary presentation available at https://regionaldss.org/index.php/2019/04/26/common-social-accountability-platform-csap-results-findings-citizen-led-discussions-displacement-durable-solutions-mogadishu/ . CSAP was developed by Africa’s Voices Foundation (AVF) and launched in partnership with ReDSS and the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA) in Somalia. It uses interactive radio to build inclusive conversations at scale on displacement and durable solutions and bring the voices of displacement affected communities to decision-makers through analysis of citizen perspectives in discussion
Over 3,260 people participated in 4 interactive radio shows that were aired across 5 local stations in Banadir region. A total of 14,391 SMS were sent in.
A workshop was organized on April 30th in Mogadishu to discuss key findings and recommendations with stakeholders and local authorities to ensure there will be used to inform programming and policies and to collectively plan the next steps.
