Hi!
I'm trying to spatially smooth a EPI dataset with a 3D gaussian 5mm filter.
However, when I use the command
fslmaths <infile> -kernel gauss 2.1233226 <outfile>
nothing seems to change in the data.
However, when i use fslmaths <infile> -kernel gauss 2.1233226 -fmean <outfile>
it does seem to smooth the data, but also makes the images look 'lighter', presumably because of the demeaning.
I have two questions:
1) Is it ok to de-mean the dataset (I assume it is) and
2) why isn't it working without?
Thanks!
