Dear all,
Myself and one my PhD students Allyson Rogers are speaking at a public "Pint of Science" event on Monday 20th May in the Three Lamps pub in Swansea 7-9pm:
The drive for life: Are older drivers safe and how do we improve things for those that do have to give-up driving.
Allyson Rogers (Doctoral Researcher)
Dr Charles Musselwhite (Associate Professor )
We are a success story. As a society, we are living longer and healthier lives than ever before. As such, we are more mobile and we are driving more frequently and further in later life than previous generations. But are older drivers safe to continue to drive? Are older women safer drivers than older men? Is introducing a driving test and training for older drivers a good idea? We'll also look at why it is so hard to ditch driving, and how we can make it safer. And we'll finish with a trip to the future - will driverless cars save us all!
Tickets £4 each
