Good afternoon
Staffordshire University is hosting a Library Teachmeet on the afternoon of 17th July 1-4 “A systematic approach to supporting postgraduate research students”
This event will be of interest, to library and academic skills support colleagues who have recently started supporting PHD/MPHIL students or acquired this responsibility after having very little experience. We are inviting enthusiastic presenters and audience members to share their experiences, how did you develop your skills in this area? What support have you needed and how did you get this? What challenges have you encountered engaging students and how have you addressed these?
This could be in the following areas
• Your own personal staff development skills identification and development
• Training and support approaches both face-to-face and online for PGR students
• Techniques for developing academic, digital, information, literacy and numeracy skills at PGR level
• Inducting PGR students into the world of publishing
The event is free, and lunch will be provided. We are pleased to have guest speakers Cath Dishman Open Access and Digital Scholarship Librarian and Katherine Stephan, Academic Liaison Librarian, at Liverpool John Moores to start the event.
Tickets for enthusiastic speakers and audience participants are available at:
