Hi Russell,
You need to "rm -r .relion_lock" (without the quotes). In *NIX based
systems "." preceding any files or folders hides the file/folder
similar to what windows does. If you were to run an ls -ralt in your
relion directory it will list the files in the directory hidden or
otherwise. I hope this helps.
