Dear All
My colleague who works on the vegetation history and landuse changes in the Alps in Germany, has found three seeds in his peat profile, but we could not identify them.
The site is a peat mire at an altitude of 1450m a.s.l. in the northern fringe of the Alps. The callibrated age for the layer with seeds is between 4200 and 4550 BC. According to the pollen profile the expected vegetation would be more or less closed forest around the mire with dominant species from Picea, Pinus ans Corylus.
Would be great to have your helpful ideas about them.
Best Regards
Sara
