OK, last email on the topic, I promise. But just because I've now received a few private emails asking what exactly is the "gist", as in what were some of the answers I received about Lambert. In brief, don't bother. In more detail, here are a few of the responses:
"Basically, they are a content farm, and make money marginally by selling your book back to you. They print for free, however, so in that sense it's attractive....But it will do you no good academically, and it won't get your work widely noticed. So I'd ask myself, what do you really want to see happen here?"
"There are many academic publishers now, always proposing to publish your work fast and for free. Sometimes, it implies that you are in charge of grammar revision, for exemple, or that they will publish only an ebook version of your work. Then there are scams too, of course. You could try to take a look at their portfolio and contact the authors for example."
"Lambert specialises in vanity publishing. I wouldn't bother."
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
K

Subject: Is Lambert Academic Publishing Legit?
Hi,
I'm a former anthropology masters student, and I've recently gotten a couple of emails from someone at Lambert Academic Publishing offering to publish my masters thesis (which I completed in 2013 at the U of Manchester) for free, saying "We would be interested in publications on this topic with you. In case you have other unpublished research works in this field, would you be interested to publish with us?"
Is this in any way legit and worth inquiring into further, or a big scam? I've now received two emails from them. I'm a freelance writer/journalist, so this does grab my attention...
Thanks for any insight!
Cheers,
Kim
