Data Scientist, The Scottish Police Authority, Glasgow, UK
We have recently built a brand new infrastructure which combines crucial policing data into a singular source. If you enjoy manipulating vast quantities of data to obtain insights then we would challenge you to find an organisation with a richer set of previously untapped data.
This environment refreshes on a nightly basis and we have carried out extensive cleansing and transformation on the data being fed into it. This gives us confidence that when the right person is recruited they will have a solid foundation of data which they can ‘get to work on’.
What will you be doing?
The department you will be joining is looking to influence real change for the organisation based on the analytics and insights produced by yourself and the rest of the unit. As such you will be part of a team which directly influences how the communities in Scotland are policed in an effort to improve quality of service and responsiveness by helping to reduce crime, identify and help protect the most vulnerable people in society at an early stage.
