We are inviting applications for a Research Fellow in Modelling and Governance of Innovative Transport Measures to join the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds.
The Research Fellow will primarily contribute to the JPI Europe -China funded project U-PASS. Motivated by the world-wide shared desire and need for more efficient, reliable and environmentally sustainable urban transport, this project will investigate how to achieve this through new policies and services. We conduct real experiments and build models, both in China and in Europe, and integrate the two approaches. We focus on policies and services such as tradable credits schemes, automated vehicles, electric driving, ride sharing, car sharing, and cycling. The approach enables us to learn more by exploiting differences in modelling approaches, cultural backgrounds, local conditions, and research expertise.
Joining the Spatial Modelling and Dynamics Research Group and working with Prof Simon Shepherd and Dr Caroline Mullen, you will specifically work to develop the strategic model MARS so that we can investigate the impacts of new policies and services applied to a case study of Beijing, China. You will also develop an understanding of the governance and regulation space around these innovative policies working with partners in Beijing and Amsterdam to understand differences between the two case study countries.
