Betreff: Re: evidence in the age of populism Re: Another reason not to promote normal birth
One of the issues we face is that we are in an age of populism, a time where sound information and evidence is ignored or discounted. Often this is easy to do because of the traditional way it is presented, making it difficult to grapple with. This is affecting us in health care as well as in politics.
One of the big questions we face is how do we get evidence and the issues around it into the mainstream-and described in an easy to understand way ( or in the lingo make it accessible). Also, how do we challenge poor evidence without seeming defensive-or from the back foot.
These are political issues and perhaps we need to be more political about the evidence, and clear where there is uncertainty?
