Registration is open for the 29th Screen Studies Conference, to be held at the University of Glasgow, 28-30 June 2019. This year marks the 60th anniversary of Screen journal.
Papers have been programmed across all topics in screen studies, but the organisers also specifically invited contributions to a strand titled 'Screen Studies Beyond the Field', devoted to the themes of interdisciplinarity and impact in the contemporary audiovisual humanities and beyond.
Keynote speakers are Dr David Campany (University of Westminster)<https://www.westminster.ac.uk/about-us/our-people/directory/campany-david>, Professor Laura Marcus (University of Oxford)<https://www.english.ox.ac.uk/people/professor-laura-marcus> and Professor Haidee Wasson (Concordia University)<http://www.concordia.ca/finearts/cinema/faculty.html?fpid=haidee-wasson>.
The line-up also includes a panel of particular interest to early career scholars, 'How to Get Published in Screen Studies'; the premiere of essay film Passages<https://research.reading.ac.uk/intermidia/passages/>; and a combined panel/gig/screening, in the form of performance project, the Glam Rock Dialogues<http://eprints.gla.ac.uk/136068/1/136068.pdf>.
The full panel schedule and list of papers can be viewed at the site below, where you can will find a link to register. Fees are £200 (standard), £120 (unemployed/unaffiliated) and £95 (student). This includes entrance to all conference talks, lunches and refreshments over the weekend and a Friday evening reception. A Saturday evening conference dinner (£33) and university accommodation may also be booked during registration. Standard registration closes on 16 June.
