This is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative approaches to teaching and research and be instrumental in the launch of a new undergraduate programme at a leading international research and teaching centre.

CMPS at Warwick has an excellent track record for research in the creative industries and enterprise; media and cultural policy; media, communication and culture; cultural entrepreneurship and cultural management. Our taught MA programmes are central to our international reputation and to the generation of new research and our new BA (Hons) Media and Creative Industries (launching in 2020) will expand our footprint in national and overseas markets.

We would be particularly interested in recruiting a researcher specializing in the areas of production cultures, digital cultures and creativity, creative technologies, cultural entrepreneurship, creative business, media management, transmedia production/storytelling or new developments in media and creative industries. You will be expected to develop new areas of research and teaching in the broad area of media and creative industries as part of the Centre’s strategic development and growth.

You will be playing a key role in our new undergraduate course BA (Hons) Media and Creative Industries and in the established Masters courses (Creative and Media Enterprises; Global Media and Communication; International Cultural Policy and Management; Arts, Enterprise and Development). You will be expected to provide strong intellectual leadership and to identify synergies between emergent themes in teaching and research, as well as contributing to/leading on teaching and course management. There are also opportunities to develop research partnerships with other University departments and centres, and to engage with constituencies and organisations outside the University. You will be expected to seek appropriate external funding in support of your research plans. We welcome applicants with experience of industry practice and / or strong connections with media, cultural and creative industries in the region or beyond.

To be appointed at assistant-level position, you will hold a doctoral degree and have a sound record of achievement in research, with a developing national/international reputation. You will have clear potential for, or demonstrated excellence in, producing world-leading publications in an area relevant to the post. You will have university teaching experience, preferably including experience of, or clear potential to engage in, postgraduate teaching. You will have some experience of leadership or initiative in curriculum development, and potential to undertake appropriate leading roles in the administration of the Centre. You will be expected to develop high-quality bids for external research funding, and to demonstrate a commitment to achieving research impact. You will participate as appropriate in the administration of the Centre.
