thanks for the link and thoughts, and no I am not in Boston this week, sadly.
To some degree I agree with you, however, for us there is a really rich intersection of physical and virtual (we have lots of large objects!), most obvious example being something like domestic image search apps/collections online, but the exhibitions I am interested in might adopt an experiential approach, they may be location specific, but are also mediated *meaningfully* online, and there is a coherence between these approaches.
What we are trying to avoid is the feeling that the 'digital' experience was either added in isolation to the exhibition design, and may not form part of the coherent visitor experience, and where digital is purely a DM strategy hoping to leverage the offer through personal networks.
A well as asking for recommendations I am putting together a list of agencies that might deliver this approach, happy to share it here.
