Dear All,
We just want to make you aware again of the Historic England Download Listing Data Service which you can access via the Historic England website:
https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/data-downloads/
The service is updated every two weeks and lets you download the latest Listing data from the National Heritage List for England for use in GIS software packages.
You can download various designation datasets as zipped folders containing Esri shapefiles. If you require more bespoke data, please contact [log in to unmask]
Also we have become aware that some links to the NHLE record from the individual HER record pages on the Heritage Gateway is pointing to an old url that no longer exists engligh-heritage.org.uk. We are double checking which HERs are affected by this as we know some of you have made these changes already. The link needs to be updated to the current website historicengland.org.uk website. The record UID remains the same, so it is the stem of the url that needs replacing.
You will need to replace http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=
With https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/
As the identifying number for the term/concept is the same.
E.g in the case of record 1012433 http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1012433
Would now be https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1012433
That is straight forward if the link is held as data in your database as a find and replace exercise.
If the link to the NHLE is made through your Heritage Gateway schema file e.g. .xsl, then a change will need to be made there and a new file submitted for us to upload to the Heritage Gateway site.
Please contact the HIPs Team if you have any questions.
