Richard Gough Thomas, William Godwin: A Political Life (Pluto Books)
The book is a short introduction to Godwin's life and work, containing an extended discussion and explanation of Political Justice. It also discusses many of Godwin's lesser known works (his children's books, later works such as Of Population and Thoughts on Man) and his relationships with many of the most important literary and political figures of his time - Wollstonecraft and the Shelleys obviously, but also Malthus, the Owen family, Francis Place and others. The book ends with a discussion of Godwin's importance in later anarchist thought and a brief summary of modern Godwin scholarship. The book has received endorsements from scholars of Godwin and anarchism Mark Philp and Ruth Kinna.
The book's page on the publisher's website is: https://www.plutobooks.com/9780745338354/william-godwin/ but it's also available on Amazon (at least in the UK) priced at £16.99 - buying direct from Pluto gets you the ebook version as well.
Best wishes,
Richard
