Hi,
Steve just mentioned that Vac and Singularity had been discussed at the ops meeting. Whilst it’s true that Vac can create Singularity (and Docker) containers alongside VMs on a factory machine, it’s not normally necessary to install Singularity (or Docker) as Vac will just disable support for containers if that's not installed and carry on.
For more details: I gave a talk about this at CHEP 2018 and GridPP39 in September 2017. The emphasis was on Docker, and Singularity support was just added for completeness as it was straightforward to do at the same time.
Cheers
Andrew
