Dear Jenny,

In Helsingborg, at Kulturmagasinet, where I work, we have a database called Carlotta. In this database we have the option to hide whole items or just chosen data items such as, for example, personal information.

Kind regards

Birgitta Witting

Ämne: Data Protection in spontaneous memorials archives

Hello list members,

I am working with Kostas on the Manchester Together Archive based at Manchester Art Gallery, and we will be starting our digitisation programme very soon.

One of the issues I am looking at is how to manage data protection within the collection as we digitise items for publication online. It would be very helpful to find out more about how others have approached data protection within archives of spontaneous memorials, including things that have worked well and things you might do differently. I am happy to collate a list for the network from any responses received.

Best wishes

Jenny
