Hi there,
I am quite new to using python-based tools and Anaconda, and running Mac OSX 10.13.6 (High Sierra).
I had originally gotten AROMA to work after an error involving 'pandas' (essentially, it couldn't find it) by installing Anaconda2, and creating a new environment.
However, I got cocky and then wanted to get 'FIX' up and running to compare outputs, and due to my inexperience with conda and switching between environments and flavours of Python, I have broken everything. Namely, AROMA is back to failing because it can't find 'pandas'.
So I created a new environment with Anaconda, made sure that I was using Python2.7, and attempted to install pandas version 23 using 'conda install pandas=23.0'. However, in doing so it pulled panda version 24.2 (or something like that), gave me an error message that Python 2.7 was deprecating soon, and would only distribute panda with Python 3.x. Additionally it made Python 3.7 the python version in my newly made environment.
Grrr. I got AROMA going for one case, and I'd like to continue using it!
Not knowing what to do, I hit this forum again. I saw a previous post (Item# 082590) that Martin mentioned that the 'futures' package was added "These changes were needed to make AROMA compatible with python 3.x"
Again, I'm a python neophyte, apologies and thanks in advance for your patience. Can I run AROMA with newer versions of python (say 3.6/3.7)? I am learning that software like AROMA can depend only on specific versions of python and other dependencies.
Can anyone give me suggestions as to how to proceed or troubleshoot?
Thanks,
Conrad
