One Evening of Interactions
CHI2019 fringe event
7th May 2019
The Cinema,
Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA),
350 Sauchiehall Street,
Glasgow
Time: 7.00pm
Supported by City of Glasgow College and University of the West of Scotland
This event will present a range of art practices that are concerned with digital/computational interactions. The event has been inspired by Glasgow’s hosting of ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems. The evening will be an opportunity to engage with both the CHI art community and other artists as they present and or perform their work. The event will include, sound, video, animation, interactive, light, and augmented work. The purpose of the evening is to demonstrate the diverse range of practices that exist within interactive and computational art practices.
The opportunity
Participants at CHI2019 are invited to propose performances, interactive artworks or digital art presentations to be included in the programme. Technical support will be provided but presenters will need to cover their own resource needs.
The Facilities:
"An acoustically isolated space, our cinema is the perfect screening room and provides optimum conditions for displaying digital and projected artwork and films, as well as performances and talks. The layout, with fixed seating, also makes it particularly suitable for business seminars and training sessions.
THX Certified; Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound; Full HD projector; 35mm &16mm projectors; Multi-format projection including DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats. However, it is a cinema space, so screen based work is fine. There is space for a key board and lap top, but not light shows and drum kits!”
