Kew is the world’s leading botanic gardens, at the forefront of plant and fungal science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major visitor attraction. Kew’s mission is to be the global resource for plant and fungal knowledge, building an understanding of the world's plants and fungi upon which all our lives depend.
The Archives Team manage Kew’s historic and modern records as well as documents relating to the history of botany. The team ensures the provision of access to these records to the general public, as required by legislation, and to Kew staff, enabling them to carry out their day to day work.
This vacancy is open to graduates (and those expecting to graduate in 2019) who intend to pursue a career in archives administration or records management.
Candidates should not already have undertaken a Graduate Traineeship or hold a professional archives or records management qualification.
The Trainee will assist in the curation, preservation and provision of access to Kew’s archival and modern records. Candidates should have the ability to plan their own time, work independently at pace, strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communications skills and experience of working with the public.
