Dear Allstat,
AstraZeneca seeks statisticians/programmers to join their Early Clinical Biometrics group, supporting early phase clinical development.
AstraZeneca (AZ) is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business. We are one of only a handful of companies that spans the full lifecycle from drug discovery to the commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we are more than one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. A strong set of values guide our work. By truly following the science we are resetting expectations of what a bio-pharmaceutical company can be.
Early Clinical Biometrics (ECB) are involved in the generation of evidence to determine whether promising compounds are good enough to progress to large pivotal trials. Therapy area aligned statistics groups work collaboratively with early clinical statistical programmers and data managers, together driving innovation to address the emerging challenges and opportunities within early drug development.
What does the programme involve?
We have opportunities for statisticians/programmers with little or no experience of the pharmaceutical industry to work on our early phase clinical trials, receiving both formal and on-the-job training.
You will work in a highly collaborative team with quantitative, clinical and scientific experts, and together you will contribute to a broad range of clinical trial activities from protocol development through to data analyses and results presentation.

Please note - In recent weeks there has been an increase in suspicious email activity from people masquerading as recruiters for AstraZeneca. These have been using very realistic looking material, imitating AstraZeneca people, involving fake offers of employment and asking for the exchange of money and credit card details.
