Part-time (0.5FTE) fixed term contract for 12 months, not beyond 7 May 2020
This post is associated with a British Heart Foundation-funded research programme aimed to determine the influences of genetic variants on vascular cell behaviour in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The principal task of the post-holder will be to conduct statistical analyses of data generated from this project. You will use your exceptional statistical knowledge and communication skills to provide input into the preparation of publications, reports and grants and develop collaborative relationships with the University, nationally and internationally.
You will bring to the role an in-depth knowledge of biomedical statistics, data analysis and statistical software, gained either through a relevant higher degree or extensive relevant statistical work experience in a HE, health or clinical setting. Desirable attributes also include evidence of research activity, contributions to successful grant applications, experience of analysing genetic data and knowledge of statistical design. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage with other members of the department for critical discussion of research and exchange of new ideas and approaches that might benefit the research.
