Hello AHFAP peeps,
I wonder if anyone has any nuggets of wisdom to help me with an annoying problem!
We have been running Capture One (version 8) for some time without any problems. We tether using an iMac and a Nikon D800 and a D810. We've had the usual on / off issues with the camera not being recognised on occasion - usually due to a wobbly cable but it's generally been stable for about 3/4 years.
However, for no apparent reason the software won't recognise the cameras anymore. I've done various fixes to try to isolate the problem, updated the camera firmware, reinstalled the software, updated the Mac OS, tested the cameras on other computers and deleted the image core and capture core files ( upon advice from Steve at Teamwork). The iMac won’t even recognise the cameras as a USB connection but upon testing another D800E from another department, this does tether fine. It's a real mystery. I suspect it's a combination of a problem with the usb slot on the camera ( although they are recognised on other computers) and some problem with me running such an old version of the Capture One software.
I know it's likely I will need to upgrade to a later version but just wondered has anyone else had this ? I know probably not but worth checking with you knowledgeable lot to see if you had any fixes.
Thanks a million !
Lisa.
