Hi Sally,
We have a Hasselblad H4D 50MS Multi shot camera system here at the University of Glasgow.
Happy if you wanted to come along to see it in operation.
Or have a look at the new H6D 4OOc ms as their latest high quality piece of kit,
Stephen

Subject: Recommendations for Medium Format Camera Imaging Set-up for 2D Digitisation
Hello,
I am the Camera Officer in the Herbarium of Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. We image herbarium specimens (pressed plants mounted on archival board) at 600 ppi on medium format cameras. We aim to reproduce a high quality images of herbarium specimens so that botanists can zoom into the image and see the same detail that would be seen with a 10x magnification hand lens.
We are looking to upgrade our Aptus II 10 Medium format cameras as the Copal 0 shutter used in the Schneider Apo Digitar 5.6-80 lens has been discontinued. We are getting far fewer actuations from repaired shutters so the cost effectiveness has decreased a lot.
The last camera we purchased in 2013 was a PhaseOne iXR 80MP Reprographic camera used with a custom built lightbox.
Has anyone purchased new medium format camera set-up for 2D digitisation recently that they would recommend (including lightbox)?
I have been asked to come up with a quote for a new set-up and any information and experience would be greatly received.
Many thanks,
Sally
