Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a SQL Support Analyst to join the Neonatal Data Analysis Unit (NDAU) a leading group in the country and world in neonatal care.
You will be based within the Neonatal Data Analysis Unit (NDAU) of Imperial College London, at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital campus. The Neonatal Data Analysis Unit (NDAU) is headed by Professor Neena Modi.
Electronic patient record data from all neonatal units in England, Wales and Scotland (>200 neonatal units) are extracted and processed by the NDAU to form the National Neonatal Research Database (NNRD). At present there are over 800,000 babies and 10 million days of care for these babies submitted into the NNRD. It is these NNRD data that the NDAU use for Research, Audit, Service Evaluation, Quality Improvement and Clinical Trials.
As the SQL Support Analyst for the NDAU you will be responsible for the maintenance and advancement of the NNRD.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for data management, data cleaning and extraction and manipulation of datasets within the NNRD. You will need to liaise with our data provider and across Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust IT, Information Governance and Imperial College IT and the Data Protection Office. You will also need to work closely with the NDAU analysts and statisticians.
Essential requirements
You will hold a minimum BSc or MSc in computer science/data management or other numerate discipline or equivalent experience. Experience in database management and design, excellent knowledge and experience in the use of SQL server, SQL server reporting services and writing queries in SQL and basic knowledge of statistics are required. Experience in the use of Excel, the writing of technical reports and conducting statistical analysis will be advantages. Experience of public health, neonatal services or other relevant fields is essential.
Further Information
This is a full-time one-year post, with possibility of extension, based at the Chelsea and Westminster Campus of Imperial College London. Part time applications will be considered.
