The Economics and Appraisal Group of the Institute forTransport Studies is recruiting a new Research Fellow in Transport Economics.
Workingcollaboratively with colleagues across the University, you will join theEconomics and Appraisal Research Group, whose interests cover multipletransport mode applications and methodological areas. One focus of our researchis the analysis of the costs and benefits of transport innovation andinvestment; which includes modelling of the determinants of traveller behaviourand valuation of travel attributes, and econometric modelling of the supplyside. We are engaged in several Horizon 2020 and Engineering and PhysicalSciences Research Council (EPSRC) projects which combine transport economics,econometric and appraisal methods with technology based research. Four researchprojects form the basis for this post: EU-funded projects, SMARTE, Shift2MAAS,and ASSETS4Rail; and our research partnership with SNCF Reseau. These areinnovative technical and socio-economic research collaborations that study theinteractions between technological change, passenger behaviour and productiveefficiency.
You will have aPhD (or close to completion) in an area of economics covered by the Institute’sEconomic and Appraisal Group (EAG), gained either in transport or relatedindustries such as regulated sectors or health. Additionally you will be ableto demonstrate the potential for a strong upward research trajectory asevidenced by working papers or journal articles under review that show apublication pipeline.
