The Centre for Caribbean and Diaspora Studies (CCDS) hosts the third in its series of high-profile academic events titled 'Slavery and Social Justice' that will help Goldsmiths, its academic community and the wider community to think seriously about the questions raised about the gathering debate about reparations for slavery.
Professor Anthony Bogues will give a talk titled "Black Critique: Living History, Slavery, Empire and the Making of the Present".
Professor Bogues (Ph.D., 1994, Political Theory, University of the West Indies, Mona) is a writer , scholar, curator, and the Director of the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice; Professor of Africana Studies, Royce Professor of Teaching Excellence (2004-2007); and currently the Asa Messer Professor of Humanities and Critical Theory at Brown University, USA.
