URGENT – Fully funded 4 to 5-month research internship in Digital Health available immediately in the School of Computing at the Open University. You will be based at the Open University Campus in Milton Keynes but remote working is available.
A fully funded place for a 4 to 5-month Research Intern is immediately available at the School of Computing at the Open University. Stipend is £1,250 per month. You must be an EU, EEA, or UK National. Prospective research interns could be excellent final year undergraduates, Masters students, or PhD students, or could have recently completed any of these awards. The post is available immediately, but in any case you must be available to start by 15th March 2019.
We are interested in candidates with HCI skills and experience of running studies with human participants. Experience in a health context would be an asset. No medical knowledge or experience with patients is required.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute as co-author to research publications. These may have the potential to change practise at hospitals in the UK and wider afield.
You will be responsible for:
• working with groups of users, including physiotherapists, stroke survivors, and post operative patients to help organise pilot studies of novel digital health technologies.
• familiarising users with the operation of new technologies.
• transporting, setting up and adjusting systems, where appropriate.
• analysing data, managing protocols and interfacing with NHS staff and following ethics protocols.
• helping to analyse and document pilot activities.
• helping with writing up and dissemination.
This research internship is available to start immediately and will run at least until the end of July.
