Job vacancy: Information and Archives Policy Manager
The policy function of The National Archives (TNA) exists to support all the audiences of the Archives Inspire strategy.
As a non-Ministerial Department comprising many statutory and Crown responsibilities as well as a world-leading and high-profile national archive, TNA relies on a range of specialised policy expertise that reaches out into government, the archives sector, the academic research community and by extension to all of its audiences.
The policy team has recently been refocused on our core responsibilities. As an Information and Archives Policy Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Policy and will work with discrete audience facing teams and their external stakeholders. This is to ensure information is managed in the public interest and in line with legislation and government policy, whether it be the Crown's rights in information still out in government or archives transferred to us or other archives services. You will support the delivery of a corporate and cross-sectoral policy service both internally and to other government departments, through stakeholder engagement, expert analysis and advice and knowledge transfer through traditional and digital channels. You will manage a professional overview of the policy landscape, specialising in certain areas and partnering colleagues and stakeholders in specific TNA audiences whilst working flexibly in a small, close-knit team to provide resilience and responsiveness.
Join us here in beautiful Kew, just 10 minutes' walk from the Overground and Underground stations, and you can expect an excellent range of benefits. They include a pension, flexible working, as well as discounts with local businesses (e.g. beauty salons and bars). We also offer wellbeing resources (e.g. on-site therapists) and have an on-site gym, restaurant, shop and staff bar.
The applications deadline is midnight on Thursday 28th February. Full details on the role and how to apply, along with a job description, are available here: https://www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk/csr/jobs.cgi?jcode=1607790
Please contact me via email or phone with any queries.
