Hi Matt,
We got a quote from Oracle a while back. With bulk and HE discounts, it worked out at £1.25 per PC per month

I've also wondered about the Java licensing change.
I believe unless your vendor is paying for the Java Runtime Environment you need a subscription. So I'm uninstalling.
I'm trying to get a quote on a subscription for Java 8 Updates to get a gauge of cost if I get any pushback though I'm yet to receive anything from Oracle.

Subject: Oracle JRE Licensing
Hi all,
Apologies if this isn't the best list for this, but just wondering what people are doing about the changes in licensing for the Oracle JRE/JDK? In the past, we've installed Java 8 through SCCM, and kept it updated using the Ivanti Patch SCCM plugin. Now that Oracle are no longer issuing public patches for Java 8, our options seem to be as follows:
1.) Leave unpatched Java 8 on our machines. I'm not keen on this idea for obvious reasons
2.) Install the public version. Currently this is Java 11, but they're moving to a 6 month release cycle. Each time Java is updated, we will have to update all the applications we use that depend on it, eg Eclipse IDE. We also have quite a few old applications that just don't work with Java 11.
3.) Install the OpenJDK. This option has many of the same drawbacks as option 2.
4.)Remove Java altogether. This is my preferred option, but we will need a plan for the inevitable requests for exceptions.
