Dear all, please see below and feel free to circulate widely. Many thanks.
Closing date: 12 February 2019…
Applications are invited for a research associate post-doc position in aviation and climate change research with an immediate start to:
* Conduct and disseminate policy-relevant interdisciplinary research on aviation in the context of the Paris Climate Agreement
* Publish peer-reviewed articles in leading journals
* Drive the development of new research proposals in relevant areas
* Conduct and administer knowledge exchange and outreach activities
* Co-supervise PhD researchers in related areas
* Support the submission of an impact case-study for REF2021
Areas of research interest could be: air transport demand management; biofuel for aviation; electric aircraft; whole-system mitigation for air transport; emissions accounting; non-CO2 impacts of air travel…
The post requires an interdisciplinary researcher with a base in the physical sciences who is experienced in conducting policy-relevant climate change research. This role will be responsible for driving the Tyndall Centre’s aviation-focused research activities, working with colleagues to develop a portfolio of funded research activity in this field.
The post would suit a very early career academic, who has a base in the physical sciences, but some experience and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary environment, on policy-relevant research activities.
