Information and communication technology have become ubiquitous. Sensors and mobile devices are everywhere. This internet of things has become an integral part of our life and its growth will continue. The omnipresent mutual interaction between people, information technology, and the environments in which they live, work, and play, generates deep scientific challenges.
Are you interested in addressing these challenges? The University of Amsterdam's Informatics Institute (IvI) is seeking a candidate to create and lead a new research group in human factors in the context of the internet of things. You should have an excellent record of internationally recognized research that complements the IvI's existing expertise in AI, data science, systems, and computational science. Examples of the expertise of the successful candidate include, but are not limited to, human computer interaction, computer supported cooperative work, social computing, ubiquitous computing, large-scale interactive systems, analysis of human-system interaction, context-aware computing, human data interaction, and intelligent user interfaces.
Are you a candidate with vision and thoughtfulness? Let us know how your research can tackle the exciting challenges generated by the pervasiveness and intelligence of technology. Do you value practice-informed and interdisciplinary research and outreach? Come work with us and help extend a collaborative academic environment in which teaching, research, and innovation go hand-in-hand. As our colleague, you can contribute to our vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs in information studies, data science and artificial intelligence.
We particularly encourage those of diverse backgrounds to apply. We strongly believe that diversity of education, experience, career, and perspectives will lead to a better environment for the researchers in our institute and a better intellectual environment for the team as a whole. This is something we value deeply.
