Job Vacancy: Research Fellow in Statistics, King's College London, £45,259 to £53,355 per annum (Deadline: 17 Jan 2019)
This is your opportunity to make an impact on cancer prevention and screening.
You will be the senior statistician in the Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit at King's. You will support clinical investigators by developing efficient study designs, calculating sample sizes and preparing statistical analysis plans. You will apply modern statistical methods in the design and analysis of clinical trials and other clinical studies. Such methods are likely to include adaptive trial design, analysis of cluster randomised trials, causal analysis of trials with non-compliance, and multiple imputation for missing values. We are looking for a candidate with good understanding of statistical methodology, who is also skilled in data analysis and has experience working in clinical trials. Data analysis will primarily be in R or Stata. Hence, you should be proficient in at least one of these packages. You will also participate in trial management meetings and produce reports for data monitoring and steering committees. It is expected that you will be on data monitoring committees for other trials too.
You will report to and be supervised by Prof. Peter Sasieni, Director of the Cancer Prevention Trials Unit and King's Clinical Trials Unit. Your seniority will offer the potential to coach and line manage other statisticians. Your contributions will be recognised through authorship on publications. We value your professional growth and you will have opportunities to attend conferences and training.
Our offices are situated next to the Shard, at the heart of London, offering a vibrant cultural scene. We fully embrace diversity and encourage applications from marginalised communities.
The Cancer Prevention Trials Unit receives core funding from Cancer Research UK to design and conduct clinical trials in the area of cancer screening and prevention. King's Clinical Trials Unit is a UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit and receives core funding from NIHR.
Applications are welcomed from international candidates.
