12-month Research Assistant Post, Open Research Area (ORA) funded project IN-CARE (INequality in Care - How are varying care systems associated with inequalities in care and wellbeing in later life?)
The Department for Global Health & Social Medicine at King's College London invites applications for a 12-month Research Assistant post funded by the ESRC through the Open Research Area (ORA).
The post holder will contribute to an exciting new project investigating (a) how different long-term care systems and recent long-term care reforms are associated with socioeconomic inequalities in care among older adults, and (b) the consequences of these inequalities for the wellbeing of older care recipients and their caregivers. The IN CARE-project has an international scope and is joint work with partners in the Netherlands, Germany and Japan.
Applications are invited from those with a masters level qualification in the social sciences or other relevant discipline. Experience of analysing, designing, and conducting quantitative research is essential. Familiarity with statistical software packages is also essential (e.g. STATA or SAS).
The post holder will be based in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, home to the Institute of Gerontology at King’s College London (located in Bush House). He/she will be responsible for working with the other country teams to build a database of national level indicators on long-term care, carrying out literature reviews and quantitative analyses, assisting with the organisation of project meetings and stakeholder events, and contributing to international scientific papers. The post holder will work under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator, Professor Karen Glaser. The post holder will also liaise with the European and Japanese leaders of the other work packages.
The appointment will be made at Grade 5, £31,883 per annum inclusive of £3,223 London Weighting Allowance.
