Applications are invited for a PhD position in Computational Bayesian inference with applications in infectious disease epidemiology. The studentship will be based at the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick. The successful applicant will be directly supervised by Professor Gareth Roberts and Dr Simon Spencer and will join the Bayesian Data Science for Health collaboration

which involves collaboration between researchers at Lancaster, Oxford, Cambridge and Bristol as well as Warwick.
The three and a half year position will begin in October 2019. The grant will fund UK/EU fees as well as a stipend in line with UK research council levels (£15, 072 for 2019/20).
Successful candidates from the UK will be normally expected to have or be expected to achieve a first class honours degree in mathematics, statistics or a related discipline.
Applicants from abroad should have comparable qualifications. A masters level qualification such as an MSc/MMath or similar will be advantageous but not completely essential.
